Hello!

We at Mindful Math Tutors are a dynamic team of talented educators. Based out of Oregon, and working with students from across the U.S., our beloved team offers individualized tutoring services, both virtually and in person. With a collective 30+ years of teaching and tutoring experience across our small team, we have worked with hundreds of students of all ages and levels, and have cultivated a spectrum of successful teaching strategies for the many unique learning styles we have encountered. We'd love to help you or your students to deepen mathematical and scientific understanding, expand reasoning skills, build confidence and find more FUN along the way.

Dr. Stephanie Morphet-Tepp, PhD

Tutor  |  Specialty: Science Rockstar

Dr. Stephanie Morphet-Tepp, PhD has been involved in STEM education for over 15 years, teaching students ranging from 4th graders through master's students and high school STEM educators. She has taught at the university level as a lab instructor for University of Colorado Colorado Springs and Colorado State University. Dr. Morphet-Tepp developed state-approved STEM curricula for K-12 students as well as continuing education curricula for K-12 educators. Stephanie has also helped coordinate STEM-focused events such as Science Olympiad, Cool Science, and Girls in STEM. During her PhD at Colorado State University, Dr. Morphet-Tepp received a pre-doctoral fellowship from the US Department of Education (GAANN fellowship). Also during her graduate studies, Stephanie coordinated a grant that bolstered funding for STEM education at the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming, and served as a counselor for a STEM camp for middle schoolers run through the Native American Cultural Center at CSU.

Stephanie meets each student where they are, and helps students not only to learn content, but also to connect to the ways in which they learn and study best. Stephanie applies her expertise in pedagogy for different learners in order to teach effectively to different learning styles.

Elena Parthemer

Owner  |  Lead Tutor

Elena has always loved helping students succeed. As a child, she developed a knack for math and problem-solving, and has now spread that passion for over 12 years by successfully helping hundreds of students develop better relationships with math. Elena previously managed a math learning center in Boulder, where she worked as a virtual and in-person instructor for students ranging from 1st grade math through Algebra 2 and SAT prep.

 

Elena has supported students in elementary, middle and high school as well as college with private (and group) tutoring, and recently worked as a language and math homeschool teacher for three students at the elementary and middle levels. Elena also serves as a Master Instructor for the reputable Art of Problem Solving Academy's virtual campus, where she guides online classes of advanced students in all levels from Honors Math 2 through Contest Geometry to apply exploratory reasoning and to further develop their math skills.

Alex Parthemer

Tutor  |  Specialty: High-Level Math

Alex is a whiz at math and an incredible tutor. He began tutoring 6 years ago, and has worked primarily to support students in Lane Community College's TRiO program, with an emphasis in math support. He has also assisted private tutoring students in middle school, high school and college to better understand math concepts and develop their own problem-solving abilities. Alex specializes in understandably breaking down higher-level math. He'll be your go-to tutor for Calculus and Statistics courses!

Alex received his Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies, and will bring a valuable interdisciplinary approach to the table when working with students. He has recently expanded his studies to cover wide-ranging STEM topics, including his completion of courses and further self-guided study in coding, web development, data science, and advanced mathematics.
